Tournament Information:
1. There will be 6 to 8 events and then the Upland Dream Series Championship
2. There will be a $10 member card (annual due to pay for paper expenses)
3. Entry fees will be $150.00
Breakdown of entry fee
A. $20 for championship $5.00 of this goes toward the top dog at the championship.
B. $10.00 is going for our banquet to be held in conjunction with a Pheasants
Forever and Ducks Unlimited Banquet.
C. $50 goes to the pot
D. $70 goes to the club to pay for staffing and birds.
4. These events will consist of singles flushing, pointing, women, and youth.
5. Each dog may enter the same division twice.
6. These shoots will be run only with chukar (depending upon availability)
7. The run will consist of a 4-bird 20-minute field
8. Qualification and Payout
A. Each dog needs to run at each club once. In turn, this will be an automatic bid to the championship.
B. Second way to qualify for the championship is to place 1st twice at any of the events.
C. The pot will pay out to the top three scores.
9. All fields will be approximately 10-15 acres.
10. The Championship will be run over 2 to 3 days depending on number of qualified dogs. Each dog will run twice . The top 5 combined score will compete for the championship.
11. The entry fee for the championship will be $ 200.00 and 25% goes to the pot
13.The champion flusher and champion pointer will have a run-off for the top dog title
14.Optional pots are allowed at any of these events with it being up to the contestants to be in charge of this.
Tournament Rules:
1. The event holder may not run at their own event but, will receive one qualification point. If the Championship is held at that host club, those people may not run.
2. All contestants or event holders can have different handlers for their
dogs (including nationals)
3. Use of alcohol or drugs may not be consumed before or during your runs.
4. Hunter orange is required in the field.
5. All parties must sign a liability release and promotional release before the event
6. There will be no tolerance of disrespect to judges, bird planters, or other contestants. If an issue would arise, take it to the field marshal.
7. Any dog in season will run last
8. Electric collars are allowed.
9. Each host club has the option to have a closing day for entries. To be able to draw times.
10. The hunter or scorekeeper may call a safety but, the judge has the final decision
11. All safeties will lose one shell and a 3pt deduction on their score sheet
12. All contestants will be in the blind 2 runs ahead of theirs. There will be no visiting with gallery until
you have finished your run.
13. 2 3/4 #6 shot factory loads and smaller only are permissible. No magnum loads (automatic disqualification)
14. All dogs must be leashed immediately after time is called.
15. If a dog interferes in another field, time may be called until that dog has left the field. If the dog produces a bird it is up to the hunter to have a re-run. If you continue the run as is, there will not be an option to have a re-run. If the interfering dog produces a bird it will be disqualified immediately.
16. You may go out of bounds to help your dog retrieve a bird for a partial retrieve. The gun must be left with the judge broke open or chamber empty.
17. You must walk absolutely no running . There will be one warning, then a 10 point deduction third warning you will be disqualified no excuse.
18. All produced birds are legal as long as the hunter is inbounds (mowed strip)
Tournament Scoring:
1.You will only be allowed points for the established quota.
2.If a judge or other individual flushes a bird, it will be an automatic safety.
3.tie breakers determine first by the least amount of shells, second will be cleanest dog work, and third will be by total time.
4.If a bird enters your field, it may be pursued immediately. If a safety has been called, you must wait 3 minutes to pursue it or a 10 point deduction
5.If there would be the need for a re-run, the field will be flushed and then replanted.
Flushing:
A. 10 points for a flush. 2 points extra for shot bird.
B. 20 points for bagged bird
C. 10 points for full retrieve
D. 5 points for partial retrieve
E. 10 points for unused shell
F. 2 points per minute for unused minutes (time will be rounded up or down from 30 seconds)
G. Safety 39 points
Pointing:
A. 10 points for point 2 points extra for shot bird
B. 20 points for bagged bird
C. 10 points for full retrieve
D. 5 points for partial retrieve
E. 10 points for unused shells
F. 2 points per minute for unused minutes (time will be rounded up or down from 30 seconds
G. Safety 39 points
NBDCA/ Tournament Hunter:
1. All Upland Dream Series events have the option of being NBDCA sanctioned if the contestant wishes to pay the extra $15.00
2. We also have the ability to run doubles events if contestants would like to run their doubles runs for NBDCA qualifications.
